Updated 1 November 2026. Pass GCSE Maths is responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us to ask about your information or exercise your rights.

What we collect and why

We store your account email, a one-way password hash and hashed recovery code, sign-in sessions, lesson completion, first-attempt quiz scores and paper-challenge self-checks. These let us provide your account, learning record and subscription access. We do not store your card details. Stripe handles payments and may hold billing information, shipping addresses and payment records; we store Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, subscription status and book-order references.

We process account and order information to perform our contract with you, retain required transaction records to meet legal obligations, and use limited security information under our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. We use request IP addresses for temporary rate limiting. We do not use advertising trackers or sell learner information.

Children and parents

The course is for learners aged 13 or over. For ages 13–15 a parent or carer must create and manage the account using their own email. Learners aged 16–17 need parent or carer permission; an adult must purchase. A parent or carer should help the learner understand this notice. Do not put school details, sensitive personal information or other people’s information into your account. No photo uploads or AI feedback are active in this release.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts this website and stores account and progress data. Stripe processes payments and the customer billing portal. These providers may process data internationally under their applicable safeguards. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Stripe’s privacy policy. Amelia lesson narration is AI-generated; no learner data is sent for narration.

Cookies and device storage

A necessary, secure sign-in cookie keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. Browser storage caches lesson progress, your signed-in email and sound preferences. Signed-in progress is also saved to your account. The public free sample saves progress only on your device. You can clear browser storage, but doing so removes unsynced sample progress. Google Analytics is optional on public website pages. It stays off until you choose Accept analytics. You can reject it or withdraw consent anytime through Cookie settings. Your choice is remembered on this device for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies, if accepted, also last up to 180 days. No advertising cookies are enabled.

Optional website analytics

With your consent, Google Analytics helps us understand visits, traffic sources, public page views, interest in our courses and books, and use of the free sample video. Google may receive technical information such as browser/device details, approximate location and a pseudonymous cookie identifier. We remove query strings and fragments from page URLs and reduce referrers to their website origin. We do not send account email addresses, passwords, payment references, lesson answers or learning progress. Analytics is not loaded on account, sign-in, checkout-review or paid-course pages.

We use consent as the legal basis for optional analytics. Google may process this information internationally. See Google’s privacy policy. Advertising features, Google signals, user-provided data collection and automatic enhanced measurement are not enabled for this setup. Detailed event and user data retention is set to two months, without resetting the user-data retention period on new activity; aggregated standard reports may be retained longer. Granular location and device collection is switched off. Refusing analytics does not affect your course or book purchases.

Retention and security

Passwords and recovery codes are stored as hashes. Session tokens are stored as hashes and use a secure, HttpOnly cookie. Sessions expire after 30 days. Temporary security rate-limit records expire after their short protection window and are regularly removed. We keep account/progress records while the account is active or until you request deletion. Payment records that must be retained for accounting or legal reasons may remain after account deletion.

Your rights

You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of applicable information, and may object where we rely on legitimate interests. Email us from your account address; we may need to verify identity. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us before deleting an account with an active subscription so future billing can be stopped.
